Biography
Sandra Thach is a Canadian-Chinese visual artist born in 2000 in Montreal. She primarily works in painting and drawing. She holds a college diploma in Social Sciences with an Individual profile, as well as a diploma in Visual Arts with a Fine Arts profile; these laid the foundation for her artistic approach. She completed a Bachelor's degree in Visual and Media Arts, Practice profile, at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). She also took several courses in Art History to deepen her knowledge.

Since childhood, she has loved drawing and painting the things she encounters in her life; she cherishes the ability to communicate her thoughts, feelings, and experiences through her art. Her artistic approach is centered on the expansion of memory, particularly through the exploration of both personal and collective memories. She aims to capture the essence of fragile, often fleeting moments by materializing them in visually sensitive compositions.
She has exhibited at the UQÀM Gallery for Passage à découvert, at Art Mûr gallery, Le Magasin, Arprim in the Belgo building, and Fais-moi l’art. She received a production grant for one of her printmaking projects. She collaborated with the collective Société Parallèle (SPAC) for a group exhibition at Eastern Bloc, a production and exhibition center. She also participated in the exhibition Frames of Mind, which addresses themes of mental health, identity, and community. This exhibition was organized by Vent Over Tea in partnership with My Friend Frankie, a creative network. Additionally, Sandra worked on the group show Comme une limonade en été.

Today, Sandra continues to develop her artistic practice across various mediums, while remaining true to her desire to create sensitive, introspective, and accessible works. By exploring the intersections between memory and visual storytelling, she aims to inspire dialogue with the public around emotion, vulnerability, and identity. Her promising journey reveals a career shaped by rigor, authenticity, and a deeply human artistic vision.
